Timber

As one of the largest timber merchants in the North West of England, our wide range of timber supplies cover both the construction and joinery sectors. If you’re unsure what is best for your job, here’s a handy guide to get you to the right product:

  • Carcassing: also known as ‘rough sawn’ timber, these premium quality lengths are primarily used for floor joists, rafters, purlins and timber framing in structural applications
  • CLS & Scant: perfect for creating stud walling, internal partitions and frames, these come planed on all four sides with the main difference being the edge style (rounded or square)
  • Planed All Round (PAR): for use only in non-structural applications, PAR is ideal for shelving, furniture, internal flooring, fencing, planters, pergolas, fascia boards and more
  • Tapers & Tilts: used primarily in roofing applications, they’re often used to add pitch or create a fall on flat roofs, but can also be used to level floors or ceilings
  • Treated Timber Battens: sometimes referred to as ‘roofing lath’ or ‘timber battening’, battens are most commonly used to support or fix roof tiles and slates to rafters

Other products in our timber range include garden timber, sheet materials and timber mouldings, which are often purchased alongside these items.
